Welcome to Herb Sanctuary

My name is Lesley and I am passionate about herbs!
I have been growing herbs in my garden for about thirteen years and, during that time have built up a large collection of both culinary and healing herbs. Most of the plants in my garden I can either eat or make something from.

My aim with this site is to provide information for those who are interested in herbs, whether it be in cooking, making skincare products or healing. I will be adding and updating information regularly and my blog will give a weekly update on what is happening in the herb garden.

I garden in Scotland, around 800 feet above sea level, so it can be quite a challenge to keep some of the less hardy herbs alive in Winter. In a cold Winter I inevitably lose some. I have two small greenhouses, which help to protect some of the plants and provide a warm place to start off new plants from seed.

Many of the photographs on the site were taken in my garden and show the herbs that I grow. I hope that you will find the site informative and a useful source of information for your herb gardening throughout the year.
